The Edmonton Elks have signed American quarterback Woodrow Trey Lowe III to their training camp roster.

Lowe spent the 2023 season at Liberty University, dressing for two games as a backup. He rushed three times for 10 yards while failing to complete a pass on three attempts.

Prior to joining the Flames, the six-foot-two, 215-pound pivot spent three seasons at the University of Southern Mississippi. In 13 appearances, he threw for 1630 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while rushing for 204 yards and two majors.

Lowe began his collegiate career at the University of West Virginia, where he saw action in six games over two years and completed four passes for four yards while rushing four times for 21 yards. He also saw significant minutes on special teams with the Mountaineers.

The Tennessee native is the grandson of College Football Hall of Fame linebacker Woodrow Lowe Sr., who was a three-time All-American at Alabama before embarking on an 11-year professional career with the San Diego Chargers.

The Elks will open their 2024 regular season by hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 8.
