The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American defensive lineman Jason Lewan to their training camp roster.

The six-foot-six, 285-pound pass rusher spent six years at Illinois State University, converting from tight end to defensive tackle as a freshman. He appeared in 47 games following the switch, racking up 100 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, five quarterback sacks, eight passes defended, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and one blocked kick.

The 25-year-old went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft but signed with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent. He later joined the UFL’s San Antonio Brahmas but was released ahead of the 2024 season.

The Ticats will open their 2024 regular season by visiting the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium on Friday, June 7.
