Saskatchewan Roughriders to open training camp in Saskatoon on May 12

The Saskatchewan Roughriders will open this year’s training camp on Sunday, May 12 at Griffiths Stadium on campus at the University of Saskatchewan.

First-year players will report to Saskatoon on Monday, May 6 ahead of a three-day rookie camp from Wednesday, May 8 to Friday, May 10. Training camp will begin two days later following the arrival of veteran players.

The annual Green and White Day will take place on Saturday, May 18 at Saskatoon Minor Football (SMF) Field. The event will get underway at noon local time and include face painting, music, inflatables, performances from the pep band and cheer team, and an appearance from Gainer the Gopher.

Team president and CEO Craig Reynolds, vice president of football operations and general manager Jeremy O’Day, and head coach Corey Mace will host a question and answer period with fans at 1:00 p.m. as part of a State of the Nation address.

The Riders will play their first preseason game on Monday, May 20 when they host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 4:00 p.m. EDT. The club will travel to Edmonton for their second and final preseason game on Saturday, May 25 with kickoff slated for 4:00 p.m. EDT.

Once the preseason is over, the team will return to Regina for a final week of training camp from Monday, May 27 to Friday, May 31. The team will finalize its cuts on Saturday, June 1.

The Riders will open their 2024 regular season on Saturday, June 8 when they visit the Edmonton Elks at Commonwealth Stadium.
