The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added American offensive lineman Sadarius Hutcherson to their training camp roster.

The six-foot-four, 320-pound blocker played five seasons at the University of South Carolina, suiting up for 45 games for the Gamecocks. He proved to be a versatile option and started at three different spots up front, drawing in for 16 appearances at left guard, 12 at right guard, and 11 at left tackle. As a senior in 2020, he was named second-team All-SEC at left tackle by Pro Football Focus and earned an invitation to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

Hutcherson went unselected in the 2021 NFL Draft, signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. He suffered a torn ACL in his first preseason game and spent the rest of the year on injured reserve before being waived the following training camp. The native of Huntingdon, Ten. has since been under contract with the USFL’s Memphis Showboats and UFL’s D.C. Defenders, but did not see action with either team.

The Riders will open their 2024 regular season on Saturday, June 8 when they visit the Edmonton Elks at Commonwealth Stadium.
