The Montreal Alouettes have signed American defensive lineman Trey Botts.

The six-foot-three, 281-pound defender played four seasons at Colorado State University Pueblo, a Division II program in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), recording 153 total tackles, 25.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery.

The native of Aurora, Co. was named the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 after recording 66 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 5.5 sacks.

The 24-year-old went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft and signed with the Baltimore Ravens, though he was waived at the end of training camp.

The Alouettes will open the 2024 season on June 6 when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Princess Auto Stadium for a Grey Cup rematch.
