Canadian offensive lineman Kyle Hergel will get a close look from NFL scouts on Thursday as he’s accepted an invitation to the New England Patriots’ local pro day, per sources.

The six-foot-three, 302-pound blocker impressed at his recent pro day, leaping 33 inches in the vertical jump, which would have tied for eighth among offensive linemen at the NFL Combine. He also recorded a 113-inch broad jump, 30 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, a 5.39-second forty-yard dash, 4.61-second shuttle, and 7.84-second three-cone.

The Toronto native was named the FCS Independent Newcomer of the Year in 2019 at the University of North Dakota and transferred to Texas State University, where he was named All-Sun Belt honourable mention in 2021 and third-team All-Sun Belt in 2022.

Hergel finished his collegiate career at Boston College in 2023 where he was named second-team All-ACC. He made 55 consecutive starts at guard during his collegiate career while also practicing at the centre position.

The 24-year-old is one of the top-ranked players availabe in the 2024 CFL Draft, though he’s expected to get an opportunity in the NFL prior to potentially coming north.

Local pro days are designed for prospects to get the opportunity to interview and perform for the NFL team closest to their collegiate program. Michael Herzog, one of the top running backs available in this year’s draft, is attending a local pro day with the Detroit Lions.

The 2024 NFL Draft will take place from April 25 to 27, while the 2024 CFL Draft will take place on April 30.
