Winnipeg Blue Bombers sign offensive lineman Khalil Keith, two others

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed three American players, including offensive lineman Khalil Keith, linebacker Juan Lua, and defensive back Montrae Braswell.

Keith made 20 starts over 47 collegiate games at Baylor University at left guard and right tackle. The six-foot-five, 314-pound blocker attended rookie minicamp with the New York Giants after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft and has since spent time with the Philadelphia Stars of the USFL.

The native of Alpine, Ala. ran a 5.15-second forty-yard dash at his pro day in 2023 along with 26 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, a 26-inch vertical, and a 101-inch broad jump.

Lua made 23 total tackles, two interceptions, and seven pass knockdowns over 12 games this past season at the University of Massachusetts. The six-foot, 190-pound native of Indio, Calif. previously had stints at College of the Desert and Saddleback College, both of which compete in the Southern California Football Association.

Braswell made 125 total tackles, 25 pass knockdowns, six interceptions, and two forced fumbles over 29 games at Missouri State while also scoring three touchdowns as a kick returner. The six-foot, 190-pound native of Avon Park, Fla. had stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Blue Bombers will open the 2024 regular season by hosting the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes at Princess Auto Stadium on Thursday, June 6.
