The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian defensive back Christian Joachim.

The six-foot, 192-pound defender went unselected in the 2023 CFL Draft but participated in training camp with the Stampeders prior to being waived.

The 27-year-old played 20 collegiate games with the Carleton University Ravens, recording 66 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and three pass knockdowns.

Joachim was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and raised primarily in Montreal. He ran a 4.77-second forty-yard dash at the 2023 CFL Invitational Combine along with a 30.5-inch vertical jump, 114-inch broad jump, 7.59-second three-cone drill, 4.47-second short shuttle, and eight reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.

The Stampeders will open the 2024 regular season on Friday, June 7 when they host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at McMahon Stadium.
