The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American receiver K.J. Hill.
The six-foot, 196-pound target made 201 receptions over 50 career games at Ohio State University, breaking the previous record held by former NFL Pro Bowl selection David Boston. He finished his collegiate career with 2,332 receiving yards, 20 receiving touchdowns, and three Big Ten championships.
The 26-year-old was a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers. He dressed for 21 games over two seasons with the team, recording 10 receptions for 103 yards.
The native of Little Rock, Ark. ran a 4.60-second forty-yard dash at the NFL Combine along with a 32.5-inch vertical jump, 114-inch broad jump, and 17 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
Winnipeg currently has a hole in their receiving corps as Rasheed Bailey wasn’t retained in free agency. The four-year veteran recently signed with the Toronto Argonauts.
The Blue Bombers will open the 2024 regular season by hosting the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes at Princess Auto Stadium on Thursday, June 6.
