Former CFL running back Andrew Harris will be getting the red carpet treatment in his hometown for the debut of his new feature-length documentary.
Running Back Relentless, which chronicles Harris’ final season with the Toronto Argonauts and retrospectively explores his life story, will make its debut during a VIP premiere at The Metropolitan Entertainment Centre in Winnipeg. The film is being produced by Upper Canada Films and will be available on Apple TV+ sometime after its first public showing.
The premiere is scheduled to take place on April 27, along with a cocktail reception and Q&A hosted by Winnipeg media personality, Andrew “Hustler” Paterson. Princess Auto, which recently purchased the naming rights to the Blue Bombers’ home field, will be the presenting sponsor of the event, while ServcoCanada sponsored the documentary itself.
A limited number of tickets will be made available to the public on March 1. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Samantha Mason Foundation, which supports mental wellness in youth across Canada.
Over a 12-year professional career with the B.C. Lions, Blue Bombers, and Argonauts, Harris rushed for 10,380 yards and 51 touchdowns while recording 607 receptions for 5,489 yards and 32 touchdowns.
The 36-year-old has won four Grey Cups in total, including three straight as a member of the Bombers and Argos. His final season in the three-down league ended with an upset loss in the 2023 East Final after Toronto tied the record for the best regular season mark (16-2) in CFL history.
