The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed a trio of American players to their training camp roster, including offensive tackle Kendall Randolph.

The six-foot-four, 300-pound blocker played 53 games over four seasons at the University of Alabama, making 14 starts at tight end over the course of his career and two at left guard as a senior in 2022. He served primarily as a de facto sixth offensive lineman and primary backup tackle throughout his tenure with the Crimson Tide, winning a CFP National Championship with the team in 2020.

Randolph went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft and later signed with the Seattle Seahawks, but was waived following training camp. He will now join the competition at right tackle in Winnipeg, a position left vacant by the departure of all-star Jermarcus Hardrick and the retirement of Drew Richmond.

Also joining the team are defensive tackle Kenny Randall and linebacker Jeremiah Gemmel.

Randall previously attended training camp with the Blue Bombers in 2022 but was released, eventually joining the USFL’s New Jersey Generals. In 10 games last season, he recorded 16 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

The six-foot-four, 300-pound interior defender played collegiately at the University of Charleston, where he compiled 64 tackles, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles. He was a first-team All-MEC selection in 2019 but went unselected in the 2021 NFL Draft, enjoying a brief stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent.

Gemmel played 42 games for the University of North Carolina from 2017 to 2021, racking up 238 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 11 pass breakups, five force fumbles and two interceptions.

The six-foot-two, 225-pound backer was named third-team All-ACC as a senior, landing opportunities with the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. He spent last season with the XFL’s Orlando Guardians, recording eight tackles in seven games.

The Blue Bombers open the 2024 regular season by hosting the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes at Princess Auto Stadium on Thursday, June 6.
