The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed Canadian linebacker Enoch Penney-Laryea.

The 26-year-old played two games after joining the Ticats in 2023, registering two special teams tackles.

Originally selected 26th overall in the third round of the 2022 CFL Draft by the Toronto Argonauts, the six-foot-one, 230-pound defender played 15 games as a rookie and recorded two special teams tackles, as well as a fumble recovery for a touchdown. He was released following training camp last year,

Penney-Laryea played 21 games for McMaster over three seasons, making 55 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception for the Marauders. The native of Tuckahoe, N.Y. played two seasons at Division III Union College prior to coming to Canada, earning National status by virtue of his U Sports playing career.

In addition, Hamilton confirmed the re-signing of Canadian linebacker Nic Cross and the acquisition of Canadian fullback James Tuck. Both moves were first reported by 3DownNation‘s John Hodge earlier this week.

The Ticats open the 2024 regular season by visiting the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium on Friday, June 7.
