Have you ever seen the name “Hamilton” written across the back of a Toronto Argonauts jersey? You might in 2024 as the team has signed American defensive lineman LaDarius Hamilton.

The six-foot-two, 260-pound edge rusher went unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of North Texas and had stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers, and San Francisco 49ers. He dressed for nine games with the Packers during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, recording four total tackles.

The 26-year-old native of Corrigan, Texas made 121 tackles, 28.5 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery over 51 collegiate games with the Mean Green. He was named first-team All-Conference in 2018 and Conference USA All-Freshman in 2016.

Toronto will open their 2024 regular season on Sunday, June 9 when they host the B.C. Lions at BMO Field.
