Official: Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign DL Dewayne Hendrix

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have officially signed American defensive lineman Dewayne Hendrix.

The 27-year-old consistently improved over three years with the Toronto Argonauts and had a breakout season in 2023, recording 23 tackles, six sacks, and one forced fumble.

The six-foot-four, 270-pound native of O’Dallon, Ill. has made 64 defensive tackles, 10 tackles for loss, eight sacks, six pass knockdowns, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery over 38 career CFL games.

The University of Pittsburgh product signed with the Miami Dolphins after going unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft and later had stints with the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Ticats will open their 2024 regular season by visiting the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium on Friday, June 7.
