Calgary Stampeders sign DL Terry Beckner Jr., one other

The Calgary Stampeders have signed American defensive lineman Terry Beckner Jr. and American linebacker Cam Bright.

Beckner Jr. was a seventh-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was placed on the practice roster following training camp. The native of East St. Louis, Il. was suspended for four games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs and released, after which he spent time on the practice roster with the Chicago Bears.

The 26-year-old most recently played for the Pittsburgh Maulers of the USFL. The six-foot-three, 294-pound defender was named second-team All-SEC during his final collegiate season at the University of Missouri in 2018.

Bright had stints with the Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft but never saw regular season action.

The six-foot, 222-pound defender made 60 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, one interception, and one pass knockdown during his final collegiate season at the University of Washington.

The 24-year-old native of Cleveland, Ohio started his collegiate career at the University of Pittsburgh were he made 186 tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks, one interception, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and four pass knockdowns over 52 games with the Panthers.
