The Toronto Argonauts have signed Canadian defensive back Tunde Adeleke, per sources.

The 28-year-old could be the Argos’ best option at strong-side linebacker with CFL all-star SAM Adarius Pickett leaving the Double Blue for the nation’s capital.

Adeleke was the highest-paid defensive back in the league last season but was limited to 10 games due to injury and ultimately lost his starting safety job to Stavros Katsantonis. The two-time all-star remains on the short list of Canadians athletic enough to start at halfback and corner if needed.

The native of Lagos, Nigeria grew up in Ottawa and has appeared in 86 games over his six-year CFL career with Calgary (2017-2018) and Hamilton (2019-2023), registering 232 defensive tackles, 34 special teams tackles, five sacks, five interceptions and four forced fumbles.
