The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed Canadian offensive lineman Evan Johnson to a one-year contract, per sources.
The Regina native started 12 games at left guard for the Saskatchewan Roughriders this past season but was replaced in the lineup by Philip Blake after the veteran blocker returned from injury.
The 29-year-old was selected by the Ottawa Redblacks in the first round of the 2017 CFL Draft out of the University of Saskatchewan. He spent three seasons with the club before signing with his hometown team as a free agent in February 2021.
The six-foot-four, 290-pound blocker has played 101 career CFL games.
The Ticats will open their 2024 regular season by visiting the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium on Friday, June 7.
