The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American defensive lineman Casey Sayles to a contract extension through the 2025 season, per sources.
The 28-year-old recorded 50 tackles and seven sacks during 17 games for the Ticats in 2023 while making $188,500 and earning CFL all-star status for the first time in his career.
The six-foot-four, 282-pounder made 36 tackles, six sacks and forced two fumbles over 18 starts at defensive tackle with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2022. He made 28 tackles and five sacks as a three-down league rookie in 2021.
The Omaha, Nebraska native went unselected in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Ohio University. He had stints with the Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, AAF, and XFL prior to signing with Winnipeg for the 2021 season.
Sayles recorded 110 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, six knockdowns, and three fumble recoveries over four seasons with the Bobcats from 2013 to 2016.
