Dalton Schoen has agreed to terms on a contract extension with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, per sources. He was 3DownNation’s top-ranked pending free agent receiver. It’s a one-year deal worth $230,000.
The 27-year-old has made 141 catches for 2,663 yards and 26 touchdowns over 34 games since joining the Blue Bombers in 2022, helping the club make back-to-back appearances in the Grey Cup. He was named a CFL all-star in both of the past two seasons.
Per sources, five different teams engaged in contract talks with Schoen during the league’s communication window, which opened on Sunday.
Pending free agents can negotiate with teams across the league during the current window, which closes on Feb. 11. Though they can agree to terms on a contract with a particular team for 2024, these deals aren’t legally binding and can’t be made official until after free agency gets underway on Feb. 13.
The Blue Bombers will open the 2024 regular season by hosting the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes at Princess Auto Stadium on Thursday, June 6.
