The Edmonton Elks have signed American quarterback Kaleb Eleby.

The six-foot-one, 210-pound passer completed 63.4 percent of his passes for 6,084 yards, 45 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions over 24 collegiate games at Western Michigan University from 2018 to 2021 and was named second-team All-MAC in his final season.

The 23-year-old native of Maryland Heights, Mo. declared for the 2022 NFL Draft but wasn’t selected by a team. He attended rookie minicamp with the Seattle Seahawks shortly thereafter but didn’t sign a contract with club. He reportedly ran a 4.91-second forty-yard dash at his pro day with the Broncos.

Eleby was drafted by the Houston Roughnecks in the 2023 XFL Draft and completed four-of-seven pass attempts for 28 yards with the team.

The Elks will open their 2024 regular season by hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 8.
