The Ottawa Redblacks have extended the contract of American linebacker Frankie Griffin through 2025. He was set to become a free agent next month.
The six-foot, 203-pound defender made 14 starts at weak-side linebacker this past season, recording 75 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles, and one interception.
The 28-year-old first joined the Redblacks as a free agent ahead of the 2021 season. He made eight starts in 2022, making 34 defensive tackles and one special teams tackle.
CFL free agency is set to get underway on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at noon EST.
