The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Canadian offensive lineman Logan Ferland to a two-year contract extension through 2025. He was set to become a free agent next month.
The six-foot-five, 305-pound blocker started all 18 regular season games at right guard this past season and was voted Saskatchewan’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman for the second straight year.
The native of Melfort, Sask. joined the Riders as a territorial exemption in 2019, spending the season on the practice roster while playing for the Regina Thunder of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL). He has been in the team’s starting lineup since 2021, playing both guard spots as well as the centre position.
The 26-year-old was the Prairie Football Conference’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2019 and was named a CJFL All-Canadian for four consecutive seasons.
CFL free agency is set to get underway on Tuesday, Feb. 13 at noon EST.
