The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian linebacker Adam Konar.
The six-foot-two, 225-pound defender made 17 starts for the Edmonton Elks in 2023, registering 73 defensive tackles. He was released earlier this month ahead of a $17,500 off-season bonus that was due on January 15.
The Vancouver native was originally selected in the third round of the 2015 CFL Draft and has spent his eight-year CFL career with Edmonton and B.C., dressing for 101 career games and recording 221 defensive tackles, 37 special teams tackles, five sacks, four interceptions, and four forced fumbles.
The 30-year-old played collegiately at the University of Calgary. His father, Kevin Konar, played 10 seasons with B.C. and was a two-time league all-star.
The Stampeders also re-signed Canadian defensive lineman Elliot Graham.
The six-foot-three, 253-pound native of Hamilton, Ont. has played 25 regular season games over three seasons with the Stampeders, recording three defensive tackles, nine special teams tackles, and one forced fumble.
The 25-year-old was a fourth-round pick in the 2021 CFL Draft out of the University of British Columbia.
