The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed a pair of rookie American defenders for the 2024 season, including linebacker K.D. Davis and defensive lineman Roman Lee Harrison.
Davis was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year in 2022 following an impressive senior season in which he recorded 139 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, a sack, an interception, and a forced fumble. In 61 career games for the Mean Green, the six-foot, 230-pound backer amassed 428 tackles — the fifth most in school history — while adding 32 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, one interception, four pass deflections, one forced fumble and four fumble recoveries.
The Ennis, Tex. native was twice named first-team All-Conference USA and earned fourth-team All-American recognition from Phil Steele in 2022, but did not land with an NFL team following the 2023 Draft.
Harrison was a four-star commit to the University of Tennessee and went on to play 47 games over five seasons with the Volunteers. The six-foot-two, 235-pound edge rusher collected 108 career tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, eight sacks and 13 quarterback hurries over that span.
Saskatchewan will begin their 2024 season on Saturday, June 8 when they travel to Edmonton to face the Elks.
