The B.C. Lions have agreed to terms on a contract extension with punter Stefan Flintoft, per sources. He was scheduled to become a free agent next month.
The 28-year-old finished fourth in net punting league-wide this past season with an average of 36.3 yards over 95 attempts. He also finished fifth league-wide with an average of 62.9 yards on 69 kickoffs.
The UCLA product joined the Lions as a free agent in 2020 and was the team’s nominee for Most Outstanding Special Teams Player as a rookie the following year.
Flintoft finished his collegiate career ranked third all-time in Bruins history with a gross punting average of 43.8 yards. He attended rookie mini-camp with the Denver Broncos in 2019 prior to coming north to the CFL.
