Second Swerve-ing: Elks extend receiver Kyran Moore

The Edmonton Elks have re-signed American receiver Kyran Moore for the 2024 season, preventing him from hitting free agency on February 13.

Moore joined the Elks last offseason as a free agent, dressing for all 18 games during his first campaign with the Green and Gold. The five-foot-10, 165-pound speedster recorded a team-high 69 receptions for 743 yards and four touchdowns, leading the CFL in yards after catch with 490.

The 27-year-old began his CFL career with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, appearing in 46 games from 2018 to 2022. Through five CFL seasons, Moore has amassed 279 receptions for 3,094 yards and 14 touchdowns. 

In an unrelated move, the Elks have added American defensive back Devodric Bynum.

The five-foot-11, 195-pound defender played four seasons at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where played in 43 career games and totalled 68 tackles, two sacks, 16 pass deflections and two forced fumbles. Prior to his time with the Blazers, Bynum spent a season at Northeast Oklahoma A&M, where he recorded 40 total tackles, one sack and one interception in nine games.

The Elks open the team’s 75th anniversary season on Saturday, June 8 by hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
