The B.C. Lions have signed American defensive lineman Sione Teuhema to a two-year contract extension through 2025. He was set to become a free agent in February.
The six-foot-four, 249-pound defender made 37 defensive tackles, seven sacks, and two fumble recoveries over 17 regular season games this past season. He also made 11 tackles and one sack over two playoff games.
The 28-year-old joined the Lions in 2022 and dressed for 17 games that year, making 23 defensive tackles and eight sacks.
The native of Keller, Texas has previously played for the Carolina Panthers, the Arizona Hotshots of the AAF, and the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League. He finished his collegiate career at the Southeastern Louisiana University and made 109 tackles, 13 sacks, and three forced fumbles over two seasons with the Lions.
Teuhema served a one-game suspension this past season after striking offensive lineman D’Ante Demery in a late-season loss to the Calgary Stampeders.
