Montreal Alouettes’ receiver Austin Mack worked out for the Atlanta Falcons on Tuesday, per sources.
The 26-year-old made 78 receptions for 1,154 yards and four touchdowns this past season and was named a CFL all-star. He was also a key part of Montreal’s offence during their postseason run as he made 13 catches for 185 yards and two touchdowns, including a 104-yard performance in the team’s Grey Cup win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Mack went unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Ohio State but signed with the New York Giants shortly thereafter. He played 11 games with the team that season and made seven catches for 91 yards.
The six-foot-two, 215-pound target was released by New York in 2021 after being placed on injured reserve. He briefly joined the practice roster with the Tennessee Titans before signing with the San Francisco 49ers. The native of Fort Wayne, Ind. attended training camp with the 49ers in 2022 but was waived as part of the team’s final cuts.
Mack ran a 4.59-second forty-yard dash at the 2020 NFL Combine along with a 31.5-inch vertical jump and nine-foot, nine-inch broad jump. He made 79 catches for 1,050 yards and six touchdowns over the course of his collegiate career with the Buckeyes. His NFL career earnings total $651,170.
The Falcons also worked out Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ receiver and return specialist Tyreik McAllister.
The 25-year-old led the CFL in kickoff return average and all-purpose yards in 2023. He recorded 13 carries for 52 yards, 27 receptions for 364 yards and two touchdowns, 41 kickoff returns for an average of 25.3 yards, 56 punt returns for an average of 10.8 yards, and seven missed field goal returns for 408 yards and one touchdown.
The five-foot-eleven, 180-pound speedster was a member of the Denver Broncos after going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft out of the University of Charleston. He primarily played running back prior to coming to the CFL.
This was McAllister’s fifth NFL workout this off-season as he previously visited the Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots and Chicago Bears.
