The Ottawa Redblacks have signed Canadian fullback Anthony Gosselin to a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the team through 2025.
Originally selected 18th overall in the second round of the 2017 CFL Draft, the 31-year-old has played 75 career games in the nation’s capital. He has carried one time for four yards and caught 15 passes for 104 yards while adding 16 special teams tackles, including a career-high of five in 2023.
“I have been in Ottawa for my entire CFL career and this is the only place I want to play and win,” Gosselin said in a statement. “I’m excited to play in front of RNation for another two years.”
The Redblacks also extended Canadian kicker Michael Domagala through the 2024 season.
The 28-year-old joined the Redblacks on September 19 and played five games in place of the injured Lewis Ward. He went eight for nine on field goals, including a 46-yarder, and hit all eight extra point attempts.
The native of St. Catharines, Ont. went undrafted out of Carleton in 2017 before eventually landing with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2021. Domagala made 19-of-26 field goal attempts (73.1 percent) over two seasons with the team, adding 12-of-14 convert attempts and punting 90 times for an average of 44.4 yards. He began the 2023 season with the Edmonton Elks before being released in training camp.
The Redblacks will begin their 2024 season when they host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
