The Calgary Stampeders have signed American defensive back Rodney Randle Jr.

The five-foot-ten, 170-pound cover man signed with the New England Patriots in 2023 and was released as part of final cuts in training camp. He dressed for all three of the team’s preseason games and made 13 tackles and one pass knockdown.

The native of Beaumont, Texas split the 2022 season between the Montreal Alouettes and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Over 23 career CFL games, he has recorded 58 defensive tackles, 11 special teams tackles, four interceptions, and seven pass knockdowns.

Randle played collegiately at Lamar University for four seasons where he appeared in 41 games and made 170 tackles, one sack, and five interceptions. He was previously a member of the San Diego Chargers in 2019 and the Tampa Bay Vipers of the XFL in 2020.
