The Saskatchewan Roughriders are getting bigger and faster for the 2024 season, signing American offensive lineman Jacob Brammer and track star-turned-wide receiver O’Joshua Bunton.

Bunton was a two-time NCAA Division II All-American sprinter at Lane College, receiving the accolade in both the 100-metre and 200-metre disciplines. In 2022, he was named the school’s Male Athlete of the Year after clocking a program record 10.36-second 100-metre time.

The six-foot-one, 183-pound speedster also saw action in 29 games as a receiver during his time with the Dragons, recording 47 catches for 868 yards and seven touchdowns. His best season came in 2021 when he finished seventh in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with 467 receiving yards. However, he played in just one contest as a senior in 2022, recording five catches for 110 yards and a major.

Brammer wrapped up his collegiate career in 2022 with the University of Vanderbilt, where he recorded 11 starts at right tackle and allowed just three sacks. The six-foot-four, 301-pound blocker previously spent four seasons at the University of North Texas, starting 35 of the 38 games he played.

The native of Richmond, Tex. played a whopping 3,451 offensive snaps over the course of his college career and surrendered just 10 sacks. He was a second-team All-Conference USA honouree in 2020 and an honourable mention in 2021.

The Riders open the 2024 campaign on Saturday, June 8 at 7:00 p.m. ET when they visit the Edmonton Elks.
