The Toronto Argonauts have signed American running back Isaiah Bowser ahead of the 2024 season.

The six-foot-one, 220-pound back wrapped up his college career in 2022 after two seasons at the University of Central Florida, earning a second-team All-AAC selection after rushing for 799 yards and 16 touchdowns as a senior. In 22 games with the Knights, he carried 364 times for 1,502 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Bowser began his post-secondary career at Northwestern, playing 22 games over three seasons for the Wildcats. His best campaign came as a true freshman in 2018 when he ran for 866 yards.

In five college seasons, the Ohio native ran 698 times for 2,802 yards and 32 touchdowns, while catching 45 passes for 413 yards and another major.

Bowser went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft but signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. He was released prior to training camp and was drafted by the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks, instead electing to come north.

The Argos are slated to begin their 2024 season on Sunday, June 9 at 7:00 p.m. ET when they host the B.C. Lions.
