The B.C. Lions have signed quarterback Chase Brice, who dressed for two games with the team in 2023 in a depth role.
The 25-year-old spent most of this past season on B.C.’s practice roster as he developed behind veteran quarterbacks Vernon Adams Jr., Dane Evans, and Dominique Davis. He started his collegiate career with the Clemson Tigers where he served as the backup to Trevor Lawrence during the team’s National Championship season of 2018.
After transferring to Duke for 2020, the native of Grayson, Ga. threw for 2,170 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He transferred to Appalachian State for his final two years of collegiate eligibility in 2021 and 2022 and threw for 6,258 yards, 54 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. He was named Sun Belt Newcomer of the Year in 2021 as well as third-team All-Sun Belt.
The Lions also signed American receivers Milton Wright, Devin Ravenel, and Jamarius Way, American offensive lineman Amari Catchings, and American defensive linemen Juliano Falaniko and Dominic Quewon.
Wright signed with the Los Angeles Rams after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft, though he was waived by the team. He played in 29 collegiate games at Purdue University where he made 99 receptions for 1,325 yards and ten touchdowns.
Ravenel made 48 receptions for 692 yards and 11 touchdowns over 48 collegiate games at James Madison University. The six-foot, 171-pound target attended rookie mini-camp with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023.
Way was in training camp with the Lions in 2022 when he suffered an elbow injury. The six-foot-four, 220-pound target made 108 receptions for 1,617 yards and 12 touchdowns over 23 collegiate games at South Alabama and attended training camp with the Denver Broncos in 2019.
Catchings played with the Bay Area Panthers of the Indoor Football League in 2023. The six-foot-four, 320-pound blocker played 17 collegiate games at Jackson State.
Falaniko recorded 21 total tackles, 0.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery over 37 career games with the USC Trojans. The native of American Samoa transferred to Idaho for his senior year and made 38 total tackles, six tackles for a loss, two sacks, one pass knockdown, and one forced fumble with the Vandals.
Quewon went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Southern University and attended rookie minicamp with the Chicago Bears, though he didn’t sign a contract with the team. He made 40 total tackles, 14 sacks, four forced fumbles, two pass knockdowns, and one interception over 27 collegiate games with the Golden Eagles.
