The Montreal Alouettes have listed Cody Fajardo as their starting quarterback for Saturday’s regular season finale against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats despite the game meaning nothing in the standings.

The 31-year-old has thrown for 3,792 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions this season and carried the ball 56 times for 338 yards and three touchdowns. Caleb Evans and Davis Alexander will fill depth roles behind the veteran quarterback.

A handful of Alouettes veterans will sit out for the contest, including Walter Fletcher, Avery Ellis, and Almondo Sewell. The rest of the club’s lineup has remained mostly intact, though rookie Shedler Fervius will start over veteran slotback Jake Harty.

Israel Antwine has been elevated from the practice roster to start in Sewell’s spot at nose tackle, while T.D. Moultry is listed as a starter over Shawn Lemon. This will be the Auburn product’s first career CFL start.

Montreal has a 2-0 record against the Ticats this season and will see the club again next week in the East Semi-Final at Percival Molson Stadium. The two teams met in last year’s East Semi-Final with the Alouettes coming out victorious by a score of 28-17.

The Alouettes (10-7) will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (8-9) on Saturday, Oct. 28 with kickoff slated for 4:00 p.m. EDT.
