The Edmonton Elks will have middle linebacker Nyles Morgan back at their disposal when they take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday.
The 27-year-old had been out of the lineup since Week 17 while battling a hamstring injury but remains one of the CFL’s most productive defenders. In 14 games, Morgan has amassed 97 defensive tackles, four sacks and an interception.
Tony Jones, who had been starting in the middle, will now bump over to weakside linebacker and move Canadian Adam Konar out of the starting lineup. Fellow Canadian Enock Makonzo will be a healthy scratch this week.
Also drawing back into the lineup is American defensive tackle Daniel Ross. The former NFL journeyman has played six games this year, registering nine tackles. Safety Scott Hutter will return as well, providing a massive boost to a special teams unit where he has collected 17 tackles.
Linebacker Eli Mencer and defensive end Emeke Egbule have both been released after dressing last week.
The Elks (4-13) will wrap up their regular season in Winnipeg when they take on the Bombers (12-4) at 7:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, October 21.
