The Calgary Stampeders have brought back Canadian defensive lineman Ryan Leder following the completion of his U Sports football schedule, adding him to their practice roster.

The six-foot-two, 235-pound defender was the team’s fifth-round pick in the 2023 CFL Draft out of McMaster University. He attended training camp with the team before returning to the Marauders with whom he recorded 22 tackles, three tackles for loss, three sacks, and one forced fumble.

The native of Hamilton, Ont. finished his U Sports career with 108 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, three fumble recoveries, five forced fumbles, three pass knockdowns, and one blocked kick.

In a corresponding move, Calgary released American defensive lineman George Obinna from their practice roster. The 27-year-old dressed for two games with the team as a rookie in 2022, registering two defensive tackles.
