The Ottawa Redblacks have activated defensive back Money Hunter and linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox from the six-game injured list with both practicing on Tuesday.
Hunter started 12 games for the Redblacks in 2022 and recorded 38 tackles and four interceptions, setting a new career high. He has missed all 14 of the team’s games so far this season due to a torn pectoral muscle he suffered in May.
The six-foot-one, 193-pound cover man broke into the league as a member of the Edmonton Elks in 2018 and played two seasons with the team, making 85 defensive tackles 11 special teams tackles, four interceptions, and one sack over 30 games with the team.
The 28-year-old signed with the Montreal Alouettes in February 2020 and made his debut with the team in August 2021 following the cancellation of the 2020 CFL season. He made 44 defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, two interceptions, and one sack with the club and was named an East Division all-star.
Santos-Knox missed the team’s 36-28 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders last week due to an ankle injury. He has recorded 42 tackles and one sack over eight games with Ottawa this season.
The Redblacks (4-10) will host the Montreal Alouettes (7-7) on Saturday, Sept. 30 with kickoff slated for 4:00 p.m. EDT.
