The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will once again be without their best offensive tackle long-term as they prepare to face the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday.
Joel Figueroa (shoulder) has been placed on the six-game injured list for the second time this season. The prized free agent acquisition has played just five games in 2023, missing eight games earlier in the year with a foot injury.
Jordan Murray will move from right to left tackle to compensate, while Tyrone Riley has recovered from his own knee injury and will start on the right side.
Boosting Hamilton’s chances on the defensive side of the ball is the return of cornerback Richard Leonard from a head injury. In 12 games this season, the 32-year-old has collected 37 defensive tackles, one sack, and three interceptions.
In a corresponding move, defensive back Lawrence Woods has been placed on the practice roster. Canadian receiver Tyle Ternowski will return to the lineup this week, as depth defensive end Anthony Federico (knee) moves to the six-game injured list.
The Ticats (6-7) will visit the Argos (11-1) on Saturday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. This is the fourth and final meeting between the two teams this season, with Toronto securing double-digit victories in all previous games.
