The Montreal Alouettes have brought back Canadian defensive lineman Vincent Desjardins.

The six-foot-one, 275-pound defender dressed for four games with the team last season and recorded one defensive tackle. He took part in training camp this year but was released upon its conclusion.

The Quebec City native was selected in the second round of the 2019 CFL Draft by the Calgary Stampeders. Collegiately, he recorded 51 tackles and 11.5 sacks over 28 games with the Laval Rouge et Or, won two Vanier Cups, and was named a three-time first-team U Sports All-Canadian.

The Alouettes also signed Canadian defensive back Daniel Valente following his release from the Ottawa Redblacks. The 23-year-old was a fourth-round pick in the 2022 CFL Draft out of Western University.

The Alouettes (6-4) are scheduled to host the B.C. Lions (7-4) on Saturday, Sept. 2 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
