The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Global kicker Ryan Meskell.
The six-foot, 185-pound native of Gold Coast, Australia played one game with the Edmonton Elks in 2022, recording four kickoffs for 230 yards against the B.C. Lions. He was waived by the team in 2023 following the completion of rookie minicamp.
The 29-year-old played three seasons at the University of Hawaii from 2017 to 2019, connecting on 26-of-39 field goal attempts over 41 career games. He also kicked off 189 time for an average of 58.4 yards.
The Riders (5-5) were on a bye this past week but will host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (9-2) in the annual Labour Day Classic on Sunday, Sept. 3 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
