The Toronto Argonauts will have promising young receiver Damonte Coxie back in the lineup when they take on the Calgary Stampeders on Friday night.
Coxie has missed the past two games with an ankle injury. In the previous six games, he made five starts and recorded 16 receptions for 295 yards and a touchdown. The 26-year-old caught 15 passes for 210 yards in seven appearances as a rookie in 2022.
In a corresponding move, receiver Jeremiah Haydel has been moved to the practice roster. Cornerback Tarvarus McFadden will also be a healthy scratch for this game, while defensive end Brandon Barlow draws into the rotation.
Offensive tackle Trevon Tate (knee) is the only other player on Toronto’s one-game injured list, as the team is currently one of the healthiest in the league. Players remaining on the six-game injured list include Canadian linebacker Henoc Muamba; offensive linemen Dylan Giffen and Dariusz Bladek; defensive backs Robert Priester and Maurice Carnell IV; fullback Spencer Nichols and defensive tackle Jared Brinkman.
The Argonauts (7-1) will face the Stampeders (3-7) on Friday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m. EDT. They are looking to avenge their only loss of the season, which came against Calgary in Week 9 after quarterback Chad Kelly was knocked out of the game.
