The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released American offensive lineman Chris Ivy and American defensive back Tyrique McGhee.

Ivy was placed on the practice roster after training camp. The six-foot-two, 286-pound blocker was a standout at the University of Tulsa before starting his professional career in the Indoor Football League as a member of the Tulsa Oilers.

McGhee was released by Winnipeg after training camp but rejoined the team’s practice roster in Week 4.

The five-foot-ten, 185-pound defender spent the 2020 season on the practice roster with the Los Angeles Rams, though he wasn’t brought back for 2021.

The native of Byron, Ga. played in 50 games with the Georgia Bulldogs and recorded 53 total tackles, nine pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and two interceptions.

The Blue Bombers (8-2) are scheduled to host the Montreal Alouettes (6-3) on Thursday, Aug. 24 with kickoff slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT. The two teams met at Percival Molson Stadium in Montreal in Week 4 with the Blue Bombers winning by a score of 17-3.
