The Edmonton Elks have signed Global offensive lineman Toby Lettman to their practice roster.
A native of Surrey, England, Lettman won a European League of Football championship in 2022 as a member of the Vienna Vikings. The six-foot-six, 306-pound guard signed with the league’s other Austrian franchise, the Tirol Raiders, this year but was released on August 1, mid-way through the 2023 season.
The 28-year-old began his post-secondary career in the JUCO ranks, spending two seasons at Saddleback College in California. He earned a scholarship to Texas Christian University in 2017 but did not see game action, later finishing his career at Missouri Southern State University.
After going unselected in the 2021 CFL Global Draft, Lettman resurfaced with the Potsdam Royals of the German Football League. He later spent time with the Frisco Fighters of the Indoor Football League, before signing in the ELF.
The Elks (1-9) return to action on Sunday, August 27 when they host the Ottawa Redblacks at Commonwealth Stadium.
