The Montreal Alouettes have signed American quarterback Reece Udinski.

The six-foot-four, 224-pound passer played his final season of collegiate football with the University of Richmond Spiders in 2022, completing 73.4 percent of his passes for 3,614 yards, 29 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He was named first-team All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) and won the Dudley Award as the top NCAA football player in the state.

The 24-year-old previously played at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) from 2017 to 2020 and at the University of Maryland in 2021. In 35 games between the two schools, he threw for 7,977 yards, 41 touchdowns and 27 interceptions.

The native of North Wales, Pa. participated in rookie minicamp with the Seattle Seahawks after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Montreal released rookie passer Mike Glass III in June, freeing up a spot in the quarterback room. Udinski has been placed on the practice roster with Cody Fajardo, Caleb Evans, and Davis Alexander on the active roster.

The Alouettes (5-3) are scheduled to visit the Ottawa Redblacks (3-6) on Saturday, Aug. 19 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
