The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed veteran quarterback Antonio Pipkin.

The 27-year-old has dressed for 27 career CFL games over five seasons with the Montreal Alouettes, Edmonton Football Team, Toronto Argonauts, and B.C. Lions, completing 54.2 percent of his passes for 1,846 yards, six touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He has also recorded 128 carries for 586 yards and 21 touchdowns.

The six-foot-three, 225-pound passer most recently played for the Lions in 2022, throwing for 393 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception along with 43 carries for 137 yards and seven touchdowns.

The native of Gary, Ind. attended Tiffin University in Ohio and broke every major passing record for the program. He racked up over 10,000 passing yards and threw for 88 touchdowns over 44 career games. He also contributed along the ground with over 2,000 rushing yards and 25 touchdowns.

Pipkin’s addition came after Hamilton announced that Matthew Shiltz would be placed on the six-game injured list due to a hip injury he sustained in the club’s win over Edmonton. Rookie quarterback Taylor Powell will start against the Toronto Argonauts on Friday with Kai Locksley and Pipkin serving as his backups.
