The Edmonton Elks have added a pair of American receivers to their practice roster in Jaylen Hall and Zane Pope.
Hall began his collegiate career at Western Michigan, amassing 85 receptions for 1,532 yards and 14 touchdowns in 43 career games for the Broncos. After four seasons, the six-foot-three, 180-pound target transferred to Western Kentucky University, adding 68 receptions for 869 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games as a super senior in 2022, adding nine punt returns for 106 yards and a major.
Pope spent all five years of school at Fresno State, recording 129 receptions for 1,738 yards and 11 touchdowns. As a senior in 2022, the six-foot-two, 190-pound receiver was named a Phil Steele fourth-team All-Mountain West selection after catching 50 passes for 653 yards and four scores, later earning a mini-camp invite from the Kansas City Chiefs.
In a corresponding move, the Elks released Canadian linebacker Mike Dubuisson and defensive tackle Olivier Charles-Pierre from the practice roster, along with American defensive lineman Darel Middleton and quarterback Khalil Tate.
The Elks (0-6) next visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (4-2) at IG Field on Thursday, July 20.
