The Saskatchewan Roughriders have brought back American receiver Jake Herslow.
Herslow attended training camp with the Riders in 2023 and drew rave reviews from onlookers, but suffered a knee injury before taking part in preseason action. He was released to create roster space but has now been re-signed.
The six-foot, 185-pound pass catcher played one season after walking on at the University of Houston in 2021. He caught 35 passes for 480 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games — good enough for third on the team — while notching two tackles.
Before joining the Cougars, Herslow played 30 games over four seasons at Old Dominion University. He registered 11 receptions for 109 yards over that span while making 15 special teams tackles.
Herslow went unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft and signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent, attending rookie minicamp with the team. He was later under contract with the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks, but was released before the start of their season.
