The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have released quarterback N’Kosi Perry.
The 25-year-old signed with the team two weeks ago and dressed for their 38-12 loss to the Montreal Alouettes after Bo Levi Mitchell was moved to the six-game injured list.
The six-foot-four, 199-pound passer played 24 games over two seasons at Florida Atlantic University and completed 59.3 percent of his pass attempts for 5,483 yards, 45 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He also carried the ball 198 times for 408 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Perry transferred from the University of Miami, where he threw for 2,484 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions along with 111 carries for 217 yards and three touchdowns in 25 games.
The Ticats have also signed American receiver Jequez Ezzard.
The five-foot-ten, 195-pound target caught 75 passes for 1,956 yards and 18 touchdowns over four season at Howard University. He later suited up for Sam Houston State where he made 79 receptions for 1,470 yards and 15 touchdowns.
The 25-year-old was a member of the XFL’s DC Defenders earlier this year.
Hamilton (0-3) will host the Ottawa Redblacks (1-2) on Saturday, July 8 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
