The Montreal Alouettes have released Canadian defensive back Kerfalla Exumé.
The six-foot, 197-pound defender did not dress in either of the Alouettes’ first two games of the season. He played in all of the Als’ games in 2022, collecting six tackles on special teams. In 2021, Exumé was an important part of Montreal’s kick coverage team, racking up 15 tackles on special teams.
The 29-year-old was selected by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers with the 70th overall pick in the eighth round of the 2019 CFL Draft. He collected a league-leading 25 special teams tackles as a rookie, helping the team win the Grey Cup.
Exumé played collegiately for his hometown Université de Montréal under then-head coach and current Alouettes’ GM Danny Maciocia. As a senior in 2018, he recorded 11 tackles and two interceptions, including a pick-six.
