The Montreal Alouettes will be without defensive back Nafees Lyon when they take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday night.

The third-year defender started the club’s Week 1 win over the Ottawa Redblacks at boundary cornerback but has been placed on the six-game injured list due to a knee injury. He will be replaced by Kabion Ento, a CFL rookie who was converted from receiver to defensive back during his tenure with the Green Bay Packers.

A number of star players remain out for the Alouettes following their Week 2 bye, including receivers Greg Ellingson, Tyson Philpot, and Reggie White Jr. and offensive linemen Sean Jamieson and David Brown.

Montreal won the three-game regular season series between these two teams in 2022 by a margin of 2-1. The clubs met again during the first round of the postseason and the Alouettes came out victorious, defeating the Ticats in the East Semi-Final by a score of 28-17. It was the club’s first playoff win in eight seasons.

The Alouettes (1-0) will visit the Ticats (0-2) on Friday, June 23 with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT.
